Business Objective: Westinghouse is a global pioneer in Electronics, Power Systems and Transmission Equipment, Lighting, and now home appliacnes and security systems, among other ventures. Westinghouse Nuclear provides fuel, services, technology, plant design, and equipment to utility and industrial customers worldwide. Westinghouse Nuclear needed a modern, web, tablet, and mobile based system for their remote sales force, who sell internationally and are in the field, to be able to track new proposals, provide revenue and sales forecasting, and make and receive real time updates on customer and sales data.
Solution
Westinghouse engaged Harmonic to build a modern, web based application which:

- Provided a secure, web based portal for the business to monitor, build, and report (Dashboard and drill down) on sales proposals and revenue forecasts.
- Provided real time integration with Westinghouse\’s corporate SAP system.
- Allowed for streamlined operational efficiency in reducing time from closure of a sale to beginning the operational fulfillment for the customer, globally.
- Provided Westinghouse management with accurate, reliable, and geographical market segmented revenue forecasting numbers for key decision making.
- Migrated legacy, non-web facing Lotus Notes application to new, custom web portal with tablet and mobile access remotely for sales staf via VPN.
- Worked in conjunction with Westinghouse SAP team to identify and correct previous forecasting errors, and provide better formulas for management and operations teams to utilize, driving operational efficiency and profits up.
