As Executive Vice President Cloud and Support Services, Rick holds domestic and international delivery, support and operational accountability. He also leads large-scale, complex programs that marry processes with technology to help our clients remain available, adaptable and operationally excellent.
Education: Rick’s undergraduate education and his Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and International Business from Southern Illinois University, as well as his numerous certifications and awards from IBM, Microsoft, and other industry leaders, provides him the unique skill set of possessing technical acumen as well as business understanding of information technology and its applications to business and organizational issues.
Experience: Rick brings extensive professional services experience to Harmonic, including multiple U.S. and EMEA tech startups, cloud and digital platforms, EMEA, LATAM and APAC solutions experience, vendor selection, and client partner to some of the world’s fastest-growing and best-known brands. Rick’s international experience gives him an important, multicultural edge in situations where intrinsic knowledge of our client’s global supply chain is necessary to identify, evaluate and implement the best enterprise solution.
Prior Roles: Before his current position at Harmonic, Rick built a national sales and operations hub for a UK-based software firm. He also served as Principal for NTT Data’s National Business Transformation Practice and helped to build their IT Strategy and PMO Centers of Excellence. Rick has advised Microsoft on Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and served on IBM’s Partner Organization Global Advisory Board, where he provided recommendations on corporate and business unit strategies prior to commitment.
Hobbies/Passions: Rick is an accomplished martial artist who still competes in full-contact tournaments around the globe. His no-nonsense approach to self-defense for the general public continually receives rave reviews from students. Rick lives in the Tampa, Florida area but often finds time for hiking in the mountains surrounding Tucson, Arizona.
